Faiz Ahmed is one of the best Urdu poets in the world and he is one of the famous Pakistani poets. Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry is translated in number of languages. Before Start my post on Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry, I would like to introduce Faiz Ahmed Faiz first.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz (13 February 1911 – 20 November 1984) was a Pakistani liberal artist and writer, and a standout amongst the most commended authors of the Urdu dialect. Born in Punjab, British India, Faiz proceeded to learn at Government College and Oriental College.

He proceeded to serve in the British Indian Army and was granted in the British Empire Medal. After Pakistan’s autonomy, Faiz turned into the editorial manager to The Pakistan Times and the main individual from the Communist Party before being captured in 1951 as a claimed some portion of connivance to topple the Liaquat organization and supplant it with a left-wing government.

Faiz was discharged following four years in jail and proceeded to wind up an eminent individual from the Progressive Writers’ Movement and in the end an associate to Bhutto organization, before acting naturally ousted to Beirut. Faiz was an admitted Marxist, and he got the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union in 1962.

His work stays compelling in Pakistan’s writing and expressions. Faiz’s abstract work was after death openly regarded when the Pakistan Government gave upon him the country’s most astounding common honor, Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 1990. Now I write a few best poems in Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry.

Hum dekhenge
Lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhenge
Wo din ke jis ka wada hai
Jo lauh-e-azl mein likha hai

Jab zulm-o-sitam ke koh-e-garan
Rooi ki tarah ur jaenge
Hum mehkoomon ke paaon tale
Ye dharti dhar dhar dharkegi
Aur ahl-e-hakam ke sar oopar
Jab bijli kar kar karkegi

Jab arz-e-Khuda ke kaabe se
Sab but uthwae jaenge
Hum ahl-e-safa mardood-e-harm
Masnad pe bethae jaenge
Sab taaj uchale jaenge
Sab takht girae jaenge

Bas naam rahega Allah ka
Jo ghayab bhi hai hazir bhi
Jo manzar bhi hai nazir bhi
Utthega an-al-haq ka nara
Jo mai bhi hoon tum bhi ho
Aur raaj karegi Khalq-e-Khuda
Jo mai bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho

We shall see
Certainly we, too, shall see
that day that has been promised to us

When these high mountains
Of tyranny and oppression
turn to fluff and evaporate

And we oppressed
Beneath our feet will have
this earth shiver, shake and beat
And heads of rulers will be struck
With crackling lightening
and thunder roars.

When from this God’s earth’s (Kaa’ba)
All falseness (icons) will be removed
Then we of clean hearts-condemned by Zealots those keepers of
Faith,
We, will be invited to that altar to sit and Govern-
When crowns will be thrown off- and over turned will be thrones

We shall see
Certainly we, too, shall see
that day that has been promised to us

The God’s name will remain (Allah will remain)
Who is invisible and visible too
Who is the seer and is seen
There will rise one cheer- I am God!

हम देखेंगे
लाज़िम है कि हम भी देखेंगे
वो दिन कि जिस का वादा है
जो लौह-ए-अज़ल में लिख्खा है
जब ज़ुल्म-ओ-सितम के कोह-ए-गिराँ
रूई की तरह उड़ जाएँगे 

हम महकूमों के पाँव-तले
जब धरती धड़-धड़ धड़केगी
और अहल-ए-हकम के सर-ऊपर
जब बिजली कड़-कड़ कड़केगी
जब अर्ज़-ए-ख़ुदा के काबे से
सब बुत उठवाए जाएँगे

हम अहल-ए-सफ़ा मरदूद-ए-हरम
मसनद पे बिठाए जाएँगे
सब ताज उछाले जाएँगे
सब तख़्त गिराए जाएँगे
बस नाम रहेगा अल्लाह का
जो ग़ाएब भी है हाज़िर भी
जो मंज़र भी है नाज़िर भी

उट्ठेगा अनल-हक़ का नारा
जो मैं भी हूँ और तुम भी हो
और राज करेगी ख़ल्क़-ए-ख़ुदा

Aur bhi dukh hai zamane me mohabbat ke siva
rahate aur bhi hai vasl ki rahat ke siva

और भी दुख है ज़माने मे मोहब्बत के सिवा
रहते और भी है वस्ल की राहत के सिवा

kar raha tha gham-e-jaha ka hisab
aaj tum yaad be-hisab aae

कर रहा था घम-ए-जहा का हिसाब
आज तुम याद बे-हिसाब आए

Dono jahan teri mohabbat me haar ke
vo ja raha hai koi shab-e-gham guzar ke

दोनो जहाँ तेरी मोहब्बत मे हार के
वो जा रहा है कोई शब-ए-घम गुज़ार के

Tumhari yaad ke jab zakhm bharne lagte hai
kisi bahane tumhe yaad karne lagte hai

तुम्हारी याद के जब ज़ख़्म भरने लगते है
किसी बहाने तुम्हे याद करने लगते है

Dil na-umid to nahi nakam hi to hai
Lambi hai gham ki shaam magar shaam hi to hai

दिल ना-उमीद तो नही नाकाम ही तो है
लंबी है घम की शाम मगर शाम ही तो है

Aur kya dekhne ko baaqi hai
aap se dil laga ke dekh liya

और क्या देखने को बाक़ी है
आप से दिल लगा के देख लिया

vo ja raha hai koi shab-e-gham guzar ke

दोनो जहाँ तेरी मोहब्बत मे हार के
वो जा रहा है कोई शब-ए-घाम गुज़ार के

tumhari yaad ke jab zakhm bharne lagte hai
kisi bahane tumhe yaad karne lagte hai

तुम्हारी याद के जब ज़ख़्म भरने लगते है
किसी बहाने तुम्हे याद करने लगते है

aap ki yaad aati rahi raat bhar
chandni dil dukhati rahi raat bhar

आप की याद आती रही रात भर
चाँदनी दिल दुखाती रही रात भर

kab thahrega dard ae dil, kab raat basar hogi
sunte the vo aaenge, sunte the sahar hogi

कब ठहरेगा दर्द ए दिल, कब रात बसर होगी
सुनते थे वो आएँगे, सुनते थे सहर होगी

uth kar to aa gae hai teri bazm se magar
kuchh dil hi janta hai ki kis dil se aae hai

उठ कर तो आ गए है तेरी बाज़म से मगर
कुछ दिल ही जनता है की किस दिल से आए है

saari duniya se duur ho jae
jo zara tere paas ho baithe

सारी दुनिया से दूर हो जाए
जो ज़रा तेरे पास हो बैठे

 

Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was once arrested for conspiring against the country’s Prime Minister to overthrow his government. Faiz, who wrote numerous revolutionary poems, is best known for his ghazals ‘Gulon Mein Rang Bhare’,’Dasht-E-Tanhai Mein’ and ‘Hum Dekhenge’.

Nahi nigah me manzil to justuju hi sahi
nahi visal mayassar to aarzu hi sahi

नही निगाह मे मंज़िल तो जूसतुजू ही सही
नही विसाल मयस्सर तो आरज़ू ही सही

Vo baat saare fasane me jis ka zekr na tha
Vo baat unko bahut na-gavar guzri hai

वो बात सारे फसाने मे जिस का ज़िक्र ना था
वो बात उनको बहुत ना-गावर गुज़री है

Gulo me rang bhare bad-e-nau-bahar chale
chale bhi aao ki gulshan ka karobar chale

गुलो मे रंग भरे बाद-ए-नौ-बाहर चले
चले भी आओ की गुलशन का कारोबार चले

ek tarz-e-taghaful hai so vo un ko mubarak
ek arz-e-tamanna hai so ham karte rahenge

एक तर्ज़-ए-तगाफुल है सो वो उन को मुबारक
एक अर्ज़-ए-तमन्ना है सो हम करते रहेंगे

na jaane kis liye ummid-var baiTha huu
ek aisi raah pe jo teri rahguzar bhi nahi

ना जाने किस लिए उम्मीद-वार बैठा हू
एक ऐसी राह पे जो तेरी रहगुज़र भी नही

ham parvarish-e-lauh-o-kalam karte rahenge
jo dil pe guzarti hai raqam karte rahenge

हम परवरिश-ए-लौह-ओ-कलाम करते रहेंगे
जो दिल पे गुज़रती है रक़म करते रहेंगे

jaanta hai ki vo na aaenge
phir bhi masruf-e-intezar hai dil

जानता है की वो ना आएँगे
फिर भी मसरूफ़-ए-इंतेज़ार है दिल

ek fursat-e-gunah mili vo bhi chaar din
dekhe hai ham ne hausle parvardigar ke

एक फ़ुर्सत-ए-गुनाह मिली वो भी चार दिन
देखे है हम ने हौसले परवर्दीगार के

tere qaul-o-qarar se pahle
apne kuchh aur bhi sahare the

तेरे क़ौल-ओ-क़रार से पहले
अपने कुच्छ और भी सहारे थे

ye aarzu bhi badi cheez hai magar hamdam
visal-e-yar faqat aarzu ki baat nahi

ये आरज़ू भी बड़ी चीज़ है मगर हमदम
विसल-ए-यार फक़त आरज़ू की बात नही

be-dam hue bimar dava kyu nahi dete
tum achchhe masiha ho shifa kyu nahi dete

बे-दम हुए बीमार दावा क्यू नही देते
तुम अच्छे मसीहा हो शिफा क्यू नही देते

aae kuchh abr kuchh sharab aae
is ke baad aae jo azaab aae

अए कुछ अब्र कुछ शराब आए
इस के बाद आए जो अज़ाब आए

jab tujhe yaad kar liya subah mahak mahak uthi
jab tera gham jaga liya raat machal machal gai

जब तुझे याद कर लिया सुबह महक महक उठी
जब तेरा घाम जगा लिया रात मचल मचल गई

dil se to har moamla kar ke chale the saaf ham
kahne me un ke samne baat badal badal gai

दिल से तो हर मोअमला कर के चले थे सॉफ हम
कहने मे उन के सामने बात बदल बदल गई

ab apna ekhtiyar hai chahe jaha chale
rahbar se apni raah juda kar chuke hai ham

अब अपना एख्तियार है चाहे जहा चले
रहबर से अपनी राह जुदा कर चुके है हम

phir nazar me phuul mahke dil me phir shame jali
phir tasavvur ne liya us bazm me jaane ka naam

फिर नज़र मे फूल महके दिल मे फिर शामे जलि
फिर तसव्वुर ने लिया उस बज़म मे जाने का नाम
